Is the re:new Bamboo toothbrush biodegradable?

The bamboo handle is compostable in municipal composting facilities where available (filaments will need to be removed first).

The filaments are not biodegradable but are made from sustainable castor oil plants.

Is the re:new Bamboo toothbrush suitable for vegans?

Yes, the toothbrush handle is coated with 100% plant based candelilla wax, meaning it is suitable for vegans.

What are the filaments made from in the re:new Bamboo toothbrush?

The filaments are derived from 100% sustainable castor oil plants, grown in arid areas of India where other crops do not grow.

How do I dispose of my re:new Bamboo toothbrush?

Remove filaments from the head of brush. Filaments are designed to be held in securely for safety and so will need to be removed using a tool such as plyers or similar. Please take care when removing filaments and dispose of them in the appropriate waste stream via your home collection.

Should I dry my bamboo toothbrush after use?

As with all toothbrushes Wisdom recommend rinsing and then drying the handle after use. The handle is coated with plant based Candelilla wax to minimise the absorption of water.

What materials are used in the re:new Clean toothbrush?

The toothbrush handle is made from 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) polypropylene. The filaments are plant based and made from 100% sustainable castor oil. They are held into the head by brass staples.

What is PCR?

Stands for ‘Post Consumer Recycled’. The PCR plastic used in Wisdom re:new includes plastic recycled from food containers.

How do I dispose of my re:new Clean toothbrush?

Dispose of your brush and packaging in the appropriate waste stream through your home collection or at your local recycling centre.

Can my re:new Clean toothbrush be recycled?

Yes, where facilities exist. Please check your local recycling centre for information.

What materials are used in the re:new Floss Harps?

The floss harp handle is made from 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) polypropylene. The floss is made from UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene). The floss should be removed from the harp before recycling the handle in appropriate waste stream.

How do I dispose of my re:new Floss harps?

Dispose of in the appropriate waste stream through your home collection or at your local recycling centre. Floss should be removed before recycling and disposed of in your non recycled waste.

Used floss should be disposed of in the appropriate waste stream through your home collection.

The core/bobbin should be separated from the floss and disposed of in the card recycling home collection or local recycling centre.

The handle of the Re:new Interdental Brush is made from100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) polypropylene. The filaments are made from nylon. The wire is made from stainless steel and can be recycled in the metal recycling stream where facilities exist.

How should I dispose of my re:new Interdental Brushes?

Is the Natural Elements toothpaste cruelty free?

How is the Natural Elements toothpaste different from other whitening toothpastes?

The Natural Elements toothpaste contains 99% natural ingredients which combined with bio oils help to remove stains for a naturally white smile.

Does the Natural Elements toothpaste contain fluoride?

Yes, this toothpaste contains the recommended level of fluoride (1450 ppmF) to help strengthen teeth and prevent decay.

Wisdom Power Plus Rechargeable Toothbrush

My Wisdom rechargeable toothbrush has stopped working, how do I fix it?

If your rechargeable toothbrush has stopped working it may be due to build-up of toothpaste residue in the head. To check to see if this is the cause, please follow the steps below:

1. Ensure brush is fully charged by following charging instructions in product information leaflet supplied with product. Please also see link to the leaflet here.
2. Remove head. Tap gently to dislodge any loose, hardened toothpaste. If any toothpaste residue is present inside the head run under tap for 1 minute to remove. Pay close attention to head disc to ensure it can move freely. Allow to dry.
3. Replace head and turn on

If you are still experiencing problems with your rechargeable toothbrush please contact us.
DO NOT attempt to remove residue from the top of the handle where the head attaches or remove the handle base cap, as this may cause damage to the unit.

How do I care for my Wisdom Power Plus rechargeable toothbrush?

Please follow the steps below:

1. After use rinse the brush head thoroughly for several seconds with the toothbrush switched on under running water.
2. Ensure all toothpaste residue is wiped away from brush head and handle after use (remove head if required to ensure all residue is removed).
3. Dry handle and store toothbrush on charging base.

Does Wisdom have a warranty period for rechargeable toothbrushes?

Yes, Wisdom offers a 1 year manufacturer warranty for the Wisdom Power Plus Rechargeable toothbrush commencing from the date of purchase.
Within the warranty period, we will repair or replace an appliance with material or manufacturing defects.
The warranty does not cover; damage due to improper use, normal wear or use, foreign intervention or changes to the original state of the appliance as well as in the case of (inappropriate) industrial use.
The warranty becomes void in the event that the appliance is opened or repairs are made by an unauthorised person.

Please keep your till receipt safe as this will be required for validation of your warranty.

How do I dispose of my Wisdom Power Plus Rechargeable toothbrush?

This product should not be disposed with other household wastes throughout the EU.
To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. Disposal can take place at appropriate collection points provided in your country.
When the battery in the toothbrush handle is exhausted and will not accept any further charging it should be removed from the unit and disposed of in accordance with local regulations with respect to rechargeable batteries. Contact your local council to determine the correct procedure for disposal.

Wisdom Spinbrush

How do I care for my Wisdom Spinbrush?

Please follow the below instructions to ensure you care for your brush correctly:

1. After use rinse the brush head thoroughly for several seconds under running water.
2. Wipe away and remove all toothpaste residue from the head and handle after use as hardened toothpaste can lead to damage of the internal mechanism.
3. Dry handle.

How long will my Wisdom Sprinbrush last for?

Dentists and hygienists recommend that you replace your toothbrush when bristles become splayed or every 3 months whichever is soonest. This is important as a worn out brush is not as effective at removing plaque. Wisdom Spinbrush does not have a replaceable head and so should be used and replaced as recommended above.

The batteries in Wisdom Spinbrush ARE replaceable so can be replaced if required before the recommended time has elapsed.

Wisdom Bright Star

How does my Wisdom Bright Star toothbrush work?

To activate Wisdom Bright Star, touch finger onto the two metal contact points on the base of the brush until flashing starts. If the brush does not activate through touch it can be activated by placing the metal contact points in contact with water.

Can I replace the batteries in my Wisdom Bright Star toothbrush?

No, batteries used in Wisdom Bright Star are non-replaceable and are designed to last the lifetime of the brush.

How do I dispose of the batteries if I wish to recycle my Bright Star toothbrush?

Before discarding, please follow the steps below in order to remove the batteries for recycling. Please note this will destroy the product.

The batteries are non-replaceable and the toothbrush is designed to securely protect the internal elements of the brush. Therefore, additional force from an appliance (e.g. pliers) may be required in order to complete the below steps.

1. Grip the upper part of the brush firmly.
2. Twist the base of the brush with force anti-clockwise until base cap loosens at the visible parting line.
3. Remove batteries and dispose in accordance with local waste regulations.

Yes, the cardboard and plastic materials used for Wisdom packaging are recyclable where facilities exist.

Are Wisdom manual toothbrushes recyclable?

Yes, Wisdom toothbrushes are recyclable if materials are able to be separated and where facilities exist (in order to separate the product, the metal staple will need removing which holds the filaments in place).
If product is unable to be separated, your local council may have ‘mixed plastic’ & ‘non-ferrous’ metal disposal areas at your local disposal collection point.
Please contact your local council if you require further information on your appropriate recycling collection point.
