Practical advice as to what dentists do and how to find one.

Regular visits to your dentist are a very important part of maintaining healthy teeth and gums.  The regular check-ups offer the opportunity for your dentist to examine your teeth for any potential problems and allows them to advise on how to improve your oral health.

A general dentistry practice provides care for a number of different areas including cleaning teeth, x-rays, advice on preventing cavities along with more specialist advice and treatment relating to areas such as orthodontics and preparation for dental surgery. They also provide routine procedures such as filling cavities whilst some practices have a dental hygienist who will provide descaling and tooth cleaning.

Some general dental practices also provide cosmetic procedures such as tooth whitening.
